Overview

Responsible for improved standard development, design, analysis, testing, and implementation of new processes improved designs consisting primarily of equipment upgrades and improvements under the general supervision Aftermarket Senior Management.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning, designing, and analyzing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, assemblies, sub-assemblies and components.
  • Perform basic design and analysis on new technology concepts relative to well stimulation/drilling machinery.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
  • Assess electrical projects and apply existing engineering design or develop new designs as appropriate to meet identified needs.
  • Analyze basic purchased and fabricated components to assure functional compatibility to design requirements.
  • Assist drafters in developing the electrical design of products, using drafting tools or computer-assisted design/drafting equipment and software.
  • Test models of alternate designs and processing methods to assess feasibility, operating condition effects, possible new applications, and necessity of modification.
  • Confer with other engineers and staff to implement operation and maintenance schedules and procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.
  • Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
  • Investigate basic equipment failures and system malfunctions and recommend design modifications to eliminate such equipment or system malfunctions.
  • Oversee installation, operation, maintenance, and repair to ensure that machines and equipment are installed and functioning according to specifications. Conduct research that tests and analyzes the feasibility, design, operation and performance of equipment, components, and systems.
  • Research and analyze specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
  • Travel to remote locations and participate in commissioning of equipment.

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or General Education (GED) and two to four years related experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred.

Computer Skills

  • Basic computer navigation and utilization skills required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) preferred. Inventor or similar three-dimensional solid modeling/CAD experience or training in college is preferred.
