Overview

Stewart & Stevenson is Now Hiring a Production Scheduler at 10750 Telge Road Houston, TX 77095. 

 

The primary responsibility of the Assistant Crew Dispatch Manager is to help the Crew Dispatch Manager ensure the Dispatch department runs smoothly by overseeing employees, providing customer service, and enforcing policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and send out weekly dispatcher schedule via Jolt Scheduling.
  • Track Vacation and Sick Days
  • Approve/Deny Vacation Days
  • Schedule coverage for vacations
  • Fill in where needed to ensure customer service standards are met and the department functions at an efficient level of operation. 
  • Stage payroll and distribute Payroll Worksheets for dispatcher review.  Review and approve all revisions. 
  • Enter Driver’s Licenses and TWIC into CMS and Laserfiche
  • Work with insurance coordinator on driver eligibility issues.
  • Update CMS information to reflect driver eligibility.
  • Manage expiring credentials groups in CMS.
  • Verify licensing per expiring credential notifications. 
  • Verify driver eligibility per unauthorized to drive notifications.
  • Complete travel audits to ensure vessels are properly crewed, booked travel is within Kirby policy, pay guidelines are followed appropriately, and compliance guidelines are followed.

  • Trains new hire dispatchers in respective divisions.
  • Schedule
  • Assists in maintaining data integrity in crew scheduling system (CMS)
  • Assists in maintaining accurate information in the current travel management system. 
  • Works with Crew Dispatch Manager to foresee and prevent any crew shortages. 
  • Assists Crew Dispatch Manager in controlling monthly travel budget by enforcing policy and recognizing opportunities to improve or change individual crew change scenarios. 
  • Understand completely all policies, procedures, standards, crewing requirements, and travel needs. 

Qualifications

Must be detail oriented with the capability to oversee dispatch operations and multiple areas simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

 

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent preferred
  • Experience with personnel management preferred.
  • Knowledge of maritime licensing and vessel manning requirements preferred.
